China State Shipbuilding Corporation(CSSC) established by merging former China State Shipbuilding Corporation(former CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(CSIC), is a super large defense industry enterprise, and the largest shipbuilding group in the world, with a total asset of  840bn Yuan RMB, a total number of employees of 347,000, and 113 subsidiaries located in 23 provinces, cities and regions in China.

CSSC has 36 research and development academies and/or institutes, 61 national innovation platforms, 13 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), with the strongest strength of research and development in maritime equipment and related fields. CSSC carries out the strategy of making the nation strong with science and technology, by focusing on developing the technology and equipment for deep sea entering, deep sea detecting, deep sea exploration. “Jiao Long” Deep Sea Manned Operation Submersible (DSMOS) and the “Striver” DSMOS developed and manufactured by CSSC successfully dived to the depth of 7,062 meters and landed on the seabed at a depth of 10,909 meters respectively, achieving a great jump breakthrough in the development of China’s deep-sea equipment and technology. The “Xue Long 2” dual-direction ice breaking Antarctic and Arctic science research ship, researched and developed by CSSC, opens a new era of twin dragon Antarctic and Arctic expedition.

CSSC continues to expand opening to the world and actively practices the Belt & Road Initiative, making many projects materialize in countries along the belt and road. It has exported various kinds of products to more than 150 countries and regions in 5 continents of the world and the high-end sea defense equipment to 11 friendly countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, etc., forming 4 international business operations: equipment export, international EPC, international technological cooperation and exchange, international capital operation.
