Established in 1950, China National Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. is one of the large state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with the supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and has two main tasks: one is to fulfill the responsibilities of a central SOE, preserving and increasing the value of state-owned assets, and the other is, as the main business of table salt production and operations management, to guarantee the supply of qualified iodized salt in China. 

As one of the leading businesses, the only central SOE and the only national enterprise in China’s salt industry, as well as the largest salt industry company in Asia, the second largest in the world, and a major domestic chemical enterprise, China National Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. has 43 wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries and nearly 30000 employees. In addition to the core business of salt, it has also developed downstream industry chain of salt and chemicals, basically forming a series of industry layouts including inorganic chemicals, agrochemicals, fine chemicals and chemicals for daily use. Some products of the Company have ranked among the best in China and the world at large.
