China Merchants Group (CMG) is a state-owned backbone enterprise headquartered in Hong Kong. It is under the direct supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC). Its overall characteristics can be summarised as: a century-old central enterprise, an integrated central enterprise and a central enterprise based in Hong Kong. In 2023, China Merchants Group made new strides in its high-quality development, revenue of RMB 924.4 billion and remained basically stable, total profit of RMB 226.9 billion with YoY growth of 3.5%, net profits of RMB 191.1 billion with YoY growth of 6.4%, and total assets of RMB 13.5 trillion by the end of 2023. China Merchants Group was awarded A grade by the SASAC for 20 consecutive years and the Excellent Performance Enterprise for six consecutive terms.
