China FAW Group Corporation (short for FAW) is a state-owned super large automobile enterprise group founded in 1953. Formerly known as the First Automobile Works, the name of the plant was inscribed by Mao Zedong. FAW was put into production and produced the first truck (Jiefang brand) of New China in 1956, and produced the first car (Dongfeng brand) and the first luxury car (Hongqi brand) of New China in 1958. FAW currently employs 120,000 people, has total assets of more than 660 billion yuan, and has produced and sold a total of 60 million automobiles, with its sales volume always ranking in the leading position of China's automobile industry. After 70 years of development, FAW has established five production bases in Northeast China, North China, East China, South China and Southwest China with a production capacity exceeding 5 million units, and has built a “1+12+X” global R&D layout.

China FAW has been awarded A-level evaluations in the annual performance assessment for central state-owned enterprises for 16 consecutive years. From 2019 to 2023, FAW has received an A-level rating for five consecutive years in the assessment of Party building responsibilities in central state-owned enterprises.
