Evolved from 6 of 156 key construction projects aided by the former Soviet Union during the“First Five- Year Plan”period. Harbin Electric Corporation（HE）is China’s oldest power generation equipment development base established on the basis of Harbin’s “three major power equipment factory”（Harbin Boiler Company Limited，Harbin Electrical Machinery Company Limited and Harbin Turbine Company Limited）. It is also an important state-owned backbone enterprise managed by the Central government that is related to national security and the lifeblood of the national economy.    

As the “eldest son” of China’s equipment manufacturing industry，with 70 years’development and accumulation，HE has formed an industrial layout covering nuclear power, hydropower，coal power，gas power，electric drive device，power station turnkey project and other predominant products，led and promoted the formation and rapid development of China’s power generation equipment industry and developed a unique innovative development path of introduction, digestion，absorption and re-innovation, making outstanding contributions to China’s national economic development and national defense construction.    

Always serving and implementing the national strategy to promote the development and revitalization of China’s power generation equipment industry. HE has produced a total of 460 million kilowatts of power generation equipment，with its products equipped at more than 500 power stations at home and abroad. Large hydropower units account for one half of China’s total installed capacity; heavy-duty gas turbines, one third of the domestic market share，and nuclear power units account for one-fifth of China’s total equipment. HE actively participating in the “Belt and Road” construction, vigorously developing the international market，and advancing into the world’s high-end EPC field of power plant. Its equipment exported to more than 60 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, Europe and America.

By the end of 2020, HE registered capital of 2 billion yuan，a total asset of 64.1 billion yuan and 14,866 employees in total，among them，more than 8,000 are professional and technical personnel.
