The China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as CIIE) was personally conceived, proposed, planned, and promoted by President Xi Jinping. It represents a major decision by the CPC Central Committee to advance high-level opening-up in the new era, and a significant initiative by China to proactively open its market to the world. As a core component of the CIIE, the Country Pavilion has been successfully held for eight consecutive years since 2018, drawing participation from a total of 147 countries and regions and 4 international organizations. It has made positive contributions to deepening friendly exchanges, expanding pragmatic cooperation and advancing inclusive economic globalization for all.

The Country Pavilion of the 9th CIIE will be hosted in Hall 5.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 5 to 10, 2026. All preparatory work is advancing steadily at present. 100-Day Countdown to This Year's CIIE, 57 countries and 3 international organizations have confirmed their participation, covering developed countries, developing countries and least developed countries. Moldova, Romania and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will take part for the first time. As for Guest Countries of Honor, Canada has announced its acceptance of the invitation to serve as the Guest Country of Honor for the second time. This year, innovative initiatives including themed days for Guest Countries of Honor and enriched benefit packages for Guest Countries of Honor will be rolled out, alongside a rich array of booth events to explore an integrated exhibition model linking indoor exhibition halls with urban activities outside the venue. The China Pavilion will feature the theme "Forging New Prospects, Sharing a Common Bright Future", fully presenting new opportunities and visions for China's economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
