Kanchanjunga Tea Estate & Research Center (KTERC) is the first certified organic tea garden in
Nepal. This organization, with a historical background was established in 1984 A.D. KTERC is not
just a typical tea producer but a social enterprise. This 95 hector tea garden is nestled at the
foothills of Mt. Kanchanjunga at an altitude from 800 to 2300 meters above sea level in
Panchthar district.
KTERC was the first Fair Trade certified tea company in Nepal, and it goes well beyond the fair
trade principles to create a sustainable tea farming society.
KTERC Produces a variety of premium orthodox and specialty organic teas from the various
flushes. The elevation of the tea garden helps restrict pollution of its environment, and the
pristine weather makes its teas among the best in the world.
KTERC has an approximate of 600,000 tea bushes
