TASTING NOTES
A brooding purple-black colour with crimson hues heralds aromas of dark red berries and eastern spice, with hints of musk. The complex, rich palate brims with black cherries and ripe berries, layered with chicory and vanilla pod with a grind of black pepper. Finished in a combo of French and American oak the wine displays a signature complex Margaret River character with lovely soft tannins.
VINTAGE & STYLE NOTES
Margaret River has again turned on an outstanding vintage year for shiraz, particularly with the premium Willyabrup sub-region experiencing almost perfect ripening conditions. inspired by the syrahs of Frances’ northern Rhone valley the fruit was de-stemmed, berry sorted, cold soaked and then traditionally open pot fermented, with minimum intervention. it was then matured primarily in French oak, with a few toasty American barrels for added backbone, until final filtering and bottling. it shows a typical fine and elegant structure, showcasing the variety’s refined fruit and signature floral and spice characters.
