100% Coconut sugar is made from the sap of the coconut palm tree. The sap is placed under heat until most of the water has evaporated. It looks like brown sugar and has a strong caramel taste. Coconut sugar undergoes little processing so, as with other unrefined sugars, it retains some of the natural vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants. Coconut sugar is classified as a low glycemic. Therefore, It is considered to be healthier than refined white sugar and brown sugar. It can be used as a 1:1 sugar substitute for coffee, tea, baking, and cooking.
