Portuguese terroir and its perfect green pastures give rise to the genuine flavours of Portuguese cheeses, produced with great passion.

Portugal is known for its excellent pastures. Pastoralism has always been an important lifestyle or traditional activity, with Portuguese cheese being the “star”. Cheese production is an art, and an important element of our gastronomy.

Portuguese cheeses, whether produced with sheep's milk, cow's milk, goat's milk or a mixture, vary from region to region in terms of texture, flavours and fat.

National cheese industry adapted original recipes and made it possible to experience them internationally.

Over the years, Portugal has managed to preserve its traditional cheeses and the industry has also made possible to offer cheeses internationally that respect the original recipes, thus allowing it to respond to possible national and international consumer preferences.
