[CIIE Now · Dialogue with Executives] Oceania Dairy hopes to bring good life to Chinese consumers Release date:2018-06-21

Editor's note:

The first China International Import Expo will kick off in Shanghai on Nov. 5. It is not just another expo in an ordinary sense, but a major policy initiative and commitment taken of our own accord to open up the Chinese market.

Reform and opening-up policies have pushed China to become a “world factory”, and “Made in China” has greatly benefited consumers around the world. The Chinese market has created a huge space for global economic development and provided a strong impetus for world economic growth.

This unusual expo has also attracted unusual exhibitors. As of now, the exhibitor invitation task has been basically completed with the results far beyond expectation. More than 160 Fortune 500 companies and frontrunners from various industries have signed their participation contracts.

These companies will present the world’s cutting-edge innovative technologies and quality brand products to Chinese consumers. The program, CIIE Now · Dialogue with Executives, hopes to glimpse expo highlights through the conversations with executives from these exhibitors.

Today’s guest:

Roger Usmar, General Manager of Oceania Dairy

Oceania Dairy hopes to bring good life to Chinese consumers

Located on the South Island of New Zealand, Oceania Dairy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

Q: Food and agricultural products are a hotspot of the China International Import Expo. As a supplier of quality milk sources of New Zealand, what featured products will Oceania Dairy bring?

A: At this import expo, Oceania Dairy will bring four quality dairy products, including two milk products and two milk powder products. We hope that the expo will bring us more development opportunities and facilitate more Chinese customers to know about our products.

Q: The import expo is a significant platform for opening up and cooperation. So, for dairy companies at home and abroad, what positive influences will international cooperation bring?

A: As an overseas plant of Yili Group, Oceania Dairy is an essential part of the globalization strategy of Yili. Through the overseas business of Oceania Dairy, Yili Group has learned from a lot of valuable experiences in the course of settling abroad, as well as its business development and integration, which provide instructive demonstration cases for Yili to explore more application models for its future overseas development.

While striving to “go global”, Yili Group is taking the opportunity of the CIIE to “bring in”. We hope to bring a good life to Chinese consumers and realize the dream of “World Integrally Sharing Health”.

Q: Given that the quality of dairy products is a concern for Chinese consumers, what efforts has Oceania Dairy taken to guarantee its product quality?

A: We implement strict testing standards for Yili Group and abide by the quality requirements of dairy products in New Zealand. Yili Group and Oceania Dairy enjoy a “Double Full Mark Relationship”, that is, a full-mark milk source plus a worldwide full-mark management standard. Based on this, we are able to bring reliable quality products to the market.

We hope all of you enjoy our dairy products at the import expo. It also embodies our commitment to Chinese consumers.
