Anchor: A prelude to the China International Import Expo took place today (August 8) with 350 exhibitors and buyers networking at a matchmaking session. Some of the companies said they have already found more than one potential buyer. Reporter Sun Siqi has the details.

Reporter: Driverless fork lifts, ceramic milling blades and solar panels for the sides of buildings were among the smart city and high-precision industrial products being touted by various companies.

Lutz Tautenhahn, Manager Technical Consultancy at Avancis: In 2030, two thirds of the world's population will live in cities. That means that we'll have large buildings and large facade areas. We need to earn energy out of our facades.

Che Hangbiao, Sales Director at Group Nicolas Correa Asia: The new milling head we are showing this time can achieve the world's highest accuracy at 0.02 degrees, and can still rotate at 10,000 revolutions per minute. This is really crucial in aerospace manufacturing.

Reporter: Although some of the manufacturing companies have already been to multiple tech fairs here in Shanghai and China, they said the CIIE is a different type of opportunity. Some companies said they are planning to use this event to show their latest technology for the first time.

Liu Xiaobing, Deputy General Manager at Nachi Shanghai: Previously, industrial robots couldn't work with humans in the same space because of safety concerns. Our new robots can sense humans. They can work with you, and you won't need to worry about getting hurt.

Reporter: While some manufacturers look to showcase their latest products or technologies, others are more interested in finding new customers at CIIE.

Bai Daping, Managing Director-China at Jungheinrich AG: We already have overseas companies as clients, so we really would like to expand and work with state-owned enterprises and get involved in government projects. That's going to be really exciting for us.

Song Jingbo, China Huadian Corporation: We're looking to buy valves and air compressor parts. We have a whole purchasing procedure, so right now we're making all the preparations we need so that we can just sign the deal in November.

Reporter: Most companies have already found at least one potential buyer. Some have more than 10 state-owned buyer groups lining up like Sinopec and State Grid.
