Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival-Shanghai

Welcome to Shanghai! Upon arrival in Shanghai, meet your private tour guide and be escorted to the hotel near downtown. The rest of the day is yours to relax in the hotel or explore this charming city on your own.

 

DAY 2 Shanghai

Meet your guide at the appointed time, and then start the city exploration from the Bund and the Former French Concession. Walking on the exotic streets, you may have a glimpse of what the 1920s’ Shanghai is like. After that, proceed to a representative of Chinese classical garden-Yu Garden, then visit the bustling Yuyuan Market and a silk workshop, where you can learn how the white cocoons turn into colorful silk. Next, get to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Center in Pudong New Area to enjoy an incredible bird's-eye view of the city.

DAY 3 Shanghai-Guilin

After breakfast, take a 2.5-hour fight to Guilin today. On arrival, your local tour guide will pick you up and escort you to visit the Reed Flute Cave, which is reputed to be "the Palace of Natural Arts". It is a place where you will see a variety of stalactites and stalagmites adorned with colorful lighting. Afterwards, head to your hotel in downtown and have a short stay at a pearl store en route.

DAY 4 Guilin-Yangshuo

Check out after breakfast, and then drive 50 minutes to Zhujiang pier for Li River Cruise, which usually lasts about 4 hours. Drifting along the river, you will fall in love with the picturesque pastoral views alongside. After your lunch aboard, you will arrive in Yangshuo around 1:30 p.m. Walk through the bustling West Street to your hotel in town, your luggage will be delivered there in advance.

Join a special cooking class in the afternoon. Your teacher will take you to a local market and purchase ingredients, then instruct you to cook some local cuisines. Finally, enjoy your dishes as dinner.

 

DAY 5 Yangshuo-Guilin-Xi'an

After breakfast, take a bike ride or private car to appreciate the idyllic scenery of Yangshuo. Breathing the fresh air, you will be deeply impressed by the tranquil rice paddies, verdant hills, flowing waters and mottled small villages. In the afternoon, you will be driven back to Guilin and take a 2-hour fight to Xi'an. After arrival, you will be escorted to the hotel by your local tour guide.

DAY 6 Xi'an

The Highlight of the tour today is the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors. Spend 2 to 2.5 hours to marvel at the grand array of thousands of lifelike clay soldiers, horses and chariots in life-size. After that, have a short stay at the Xi'an Art Ceramics Factory, then drive one hour back to the city area and ramble through the Muslim Quarter and visit the Great Mosque there.

DAY 7 Xi'an-Beijing

In the morning, visit one of the best- preserved ancient fortresses-the City Wall in Xi'an. It is strong and thick enough for you to cycle on the top of the wall and get a sweeping view of the city. After that, say goodbye to the millennial ancient capital and head for Beijing-the present capital of China and a modern city with ancient history. Arriving after 5-hour high-speed train ride, you will be escorted to the hotel to relax.

DAY 8 Beijing

Meet your tour guide at the hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. and be escorted to Tiananmen Square. After that, start the Forbidden City Heritage Walk which takes around 4-5 hours. Besides the three main halls and palaces, you will visit more sites to get in-depth knowledge of the royal family. Then proceed to the Temple of Heaven, a place where the ancient emperors worshipped the heaven, but nowadays a leisure center for the nearby residents.

DAY 9 Beijing

Today, you will visit the Great Wall-an essential site in Beijing. After breakfast, drive about 1.5 hours to visit the magnificent Great Wall (Mutianyu section with cable car up and down), and you can do some light hiking on the Great Wall to enjoy the majestic scenery.After lunch, visit a jade gallery and the Sacred Road before driving back to the city.

DAY 10 Beijing-Departure

It's time to leave. Your private guide and driver will transfer you to Beijing Capital International Airport and see you off at the security check.
