‍‍Jing'an District witnessed many large-scale influential revolutionary struggles. Many important activities in the early years of the CPC were carried out here. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Chen Yun and other revolutionaries of the older generation lived, worked and battled here. After repair and renovation, the Memorial Site of the 2nd National Congress of the Communist Party of China is now open to the public again. AR and other new technologies are used to relive the extraordinary years. The Former Residence of Mao Zedong on North Maoming Road is also open to the public after renovation. During the New Democratic Revolution, Mao Zedong came to Shanghai 11 times. To show his activities in Shanghai during this period, especially in 1924 when he lived in a house on Jiaxiu Lane, many precious historical materials such as objects, pictures and texts, letters, manuscripts, relics and paintings have been added to the exhibition hall.
