Visual contrast can sometimes be poles apart as visitors will find with a German precision machine tool - Taurus milling machine – at the China International Import Expo.

The machine, arriving in Shanghai in 12 TEU containers, measures 20 meters long, 10 meters wide, stands eight meters tall and weighs up to 200 tonnes when assembled into one whole piece.

Its precise milling and polishing finish is up to four micron meters, four microns less than most milling machines from Italy and Spain.

This machine tool prepares such steel and other metal parts as gear boxes, engine bodies, printing press upholds and turbine cases.

Taurus is so titanic that nine German and Chinese engineers and technicians worked 14 days and 12 hours a day to assemble the milling machine inside the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
