Reporter: In what aspects has the green and intelligent home appliances and furnishings special committee of the CIIE Enterprise Alliance played a leading role?

Zhao: Since its establishment in April 2021, the committee has contributed to promoting communication between the government and business, as well as providing suggestions and recommendations for the development of the industry and the upgrade of green, intelligent home appliances. As the chair of the committee at the sixth CIIE, Panasonic has incorporated environmental concepts into its products and solutions, practicing environmental commitments and contributing to a sustainable society. Panasonic has proposed the long-term environmental vision of "Panasonic Green Impact" and aims to achieve a reduction of about 300 million metric tons or more of CO2 emissions by 2050.

Reporter: How has the committee played a role in improving sustainable development of the sector?

Zhao: As a platform that gathers industry strength, the committee shoulders the mission of leading the development of the home appliances and home furnishings industry. The 14 member companies are all industry leaders and have outstanding influence in terms of brand power, products, technology, and sustainable development capabilities. They actively explore in the areas of green, smart, and innovative technologies, playing an important role in creating industry standards and leading the upgrade of consumer demands.

Reporter: What exhibits and projects will your company bring to the CIIE this year? What are the highlights?

Homma: This year marks Panasonic's sixth participation in the CIIE. We plan to focus on exhibiting business areas that contribute significantly to the environment, including clean energy such as hydrogen fuel cells, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy vehicle components. We will also demonstrate the value of integrating Panasonic's expertise in home appliances and equipment, providing proposals for a better life for the Chinese people.

Reporter: From your perspective, which function of the CIIE platform do you find most striking?

Homma: Openness and cooperation. As one of the first foreign-funded companies to enter China since the country's reform and opening-up, Panasonic has experienced the continuous improvement of the business environment in China. The expo provides a good environment and opportunities for our company's development in China. Through this platform, we can directly communicate with the government, companies, customers, and media, and receive their feedback on-site, which is excellent.

Reporter: In your opinion, what are the main trends in China's economic development and consumer market in recent years?

Homma: In the long run, I believe that the Chinese market is huge and rapidly changing, offering continuous growth opportunities. We hope to enhance our collaboration within the Chinese market by participating in the CIIE.
