Editor's Note: The fifth China International Import Expo will open in less than a month. In October, several participants of the CIIE will tell their stories themed around "great opportunity" to showcase the positive changes the expo has made to the world and how it has helped build a community with a shared future for mankind over the past five years.

Elekta was founded 50 years ago and the radiotherapy technology company entered the Chinese market only 10 years after its establishment. It was among the first group of foreign enterprises that developed business in China.

At the inaugural CIIE in 2018, Eleckta, which was the only foreign radiotherapy equipment exhibitor, launched Elekta Unity, the world's first 1.5T high-field magnetic resonance-guided linear accelerator. It combines an MRI scanner and the linear accelerator radiation therapeutic technology in a single system. The product, which received much more attention than we expected, entered the Chinese market in 2020 and has since helped clinical doctors to better treat cancer patients.

Buoyed by the CIIE's spillover effects, we participated in the following three editions of the expo to showcase our most advanced technologies. In the second CIIE, we presented 5G and AI-powered innovations. At the third, we held a celebration for the installation of our 1000th medical linear accelerator. During the fourth expo, our intelligent radiation therapy system Harmony made its Asia debut.

The CIIE offers Elekta opportunities to quickly enter the Chinese market, showcases China's significant economic growth momentum, and demonstrates the country's determination to further open up its enormous market and improve its business environment. This has bolstered foreign investors' confidence in China.

At the upcoming fifth CIIE, we will display for the first time the Harmony Pro and other flagship products including Elekta Studio, an image-guided brachytherapy solution.

We are looking forward to meeting more partners through the CIIE and working with them to help with the intelligent transition of radiotherapy technology in China.
