Nationwide CIIE roadshows enter home straight Release date: 2019-09-12    Source:chinadaily

CIIE organizers on September 11 took their serial roadshows to Shenyang for a 17th stop which aimed at drawing buyers to the second China International Import Expo (CIIE).

To be held in Shanghai in early November, the import fair is the world's first national-level exposition dedicated to imports. A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations and more than 3,600 enterprises participated in the inaugural CIIE, held from November 5 to 10 last year in Shanghai.

To bring together even more participants for this year's edition, the CIIE Bureau and China's regional commerce departments have been co-hosting a series of roadshows in major cities around the country since late May.

According to the CIIE Bureau, more stops are still to be rolled out over the coming weeks before September 30, which is the deadline set for expo visitor registration.

The Shenyang show featured the expo's Equipment and Lifestyles exhibition areas. Business representatives from A&V Waterjet Tech Inc., a United States equipment manufacturer, and Champion Wool Factory from Australia shared their plans about attending the upcoming expo as exhibitors.

Kong Fu’an, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, called on the CIIE trade missions for Liaoning Province and Dalian city to step up efforts in recruiting buyers to inject greater vitality into the local economy.

This year's Equipment Exhibition Area is slated to extend into an outdoor zone to display massive machinery and vehicles applicable to engineering, agriculture, mining, infrastructure and many other sectors.

While retaining last year's three sections — furniture and household items, cosmetics and everyday chemicals and clothing and apparel — this year's Lifestyles Exhibition Area will add a section featuring maternal-infant care and children's products.

This special area will also open a dedicated zone for high-end consumer goods. Notably, the area will invite a number of niche brands entering the Chinese market for the first time.
