The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) was recently held in Shanghai as scheduled. News outlets across the world are speaking highly of the event and closely following the latest updates on the fourth edition next year.

An interview by hk01.com with He Weiwen, a former economic and commercial counselor at the Chinese consulates in San Francisco and New York, noted that the success of the third CIIE proves once again that China's economic recovery is bringing major business opportunities to companies around the world.

The website of Asia Pacific Daily pointed out that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement signed on Nov 15 is firm proof of China's commitment to further opening-up.

Japan's SankeiBiz website reported that some exhibitors planning to attend the fourth CIIE next year received priority treatment on Nov 8 when reserving their exhibition stalls. The report said that this was part of a series of new measures adopted for the fourth CIIE.

The Runews24 website said that the participation of Russian companies in the third CIIE indicates that non-raw materials trade between China and Russia is likely to grow.

The event is expected to result in the creation of new models of trade and business operation amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it stated.
