EDITOR'S NOTE: Members of the fourth CIIE Enterprise Alliance shared their insights into the opportunities brought by CIIE and explored ways to support the establishment of China's new development pattern at a conference held in Shanghai on March 10. This series of stories shows some highlights of their speeches at the conference.

MSD, a multinational biopharmaceutical company, attaches great importance to the China International Import Expo as the event serves as a bridge between the company and customers, a stage to display its innovative products, and a platform for cooperation with different parties.

At the third CIIE held in Shanghai last November, MSD showcased a number of novel products such as the Ebola vaccine and EIDD-2801, an oral anti-viral medicine. Many government bodies and customers visited the company's booth.

Because of the expo, MSD has gotten the chance to work with government departments, medical institutions, and business partners on increasing the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services for Chinese consumers and contributing to the Healthy China 2030 Initiative.

In 2021, the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, MSD will continue to expand its investment in China, its second largest market, exert more efforts in developing new products and technology, as well as bring forward high-quality online healthcare services.

In addition, the company will seek further cooperation with the Chinese government to improve the country's public health system so as to provide the Chinese with healthier and happier lives.
