Ernst & Young: CIIE injects fresh momentum into China's supply chain Release date: 2021-03-31    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

EDITOR'S NOTE: Members of the fourth CIIE Enterprise Alliance shared their insights into the opportunities brought by the CIIE and explored ways to support the establishment of China's new development pattern at a conference held in Shanghai on March 10. This series of stories shows some highlights of their speeches made at the conference.

Ernst & Young, a multinational accounting firm, believes that the China International Import Expo plays a significant role in upgrading global industrial supply chains.

With a large number of exhibitors and a wide variety of exhibits, the CIIE pools rich resources such as latest technologies and data to facilitate the free flow of goods and information and to help with the coordination of different parties in the supply chain, in turn allowing them to do business at a lower cost and in a safer environment.

At the 15th meeting of the central committee for deepening overall reform on Sept 1, 2020, President Xi Jinping called for greater efforts to accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern featuring dual circulation, which takes the domestic market as the mainstay while letting domestic and foreign markets boost each other.

The dual circulation strategy implies more of a diverse supply "network" than a simple "chain", and the CIIE provides a great opportunity for companies to establish such a coordinated industrial supply system by using information technology.
