CIIE Stories | CIIE a sea of opportunities, TÜV Rheinland Shanghai exec says Release date: 2021-05-08

Editor's note: It has been three years since the first edition of the China International Import Expo. This series of stories highlights the achievements and changes that participating enterprises have experienced because of the annual expo.

The China International Import Expo is of great significance to both China and the world in many respects, said Lutz Frankholz, managing director of TÜV Rheinland Shanghai, in a recent interview.

TÜV Rheinland, a global provider of inspection and certification services headquartered in Germany, attended the first CIIE in November 2018 and was deeply impressed by the organizer's proficiency in holding large events. From matchmaking events and the layout of the exhibition area, to transportation, security, and health, everything is very professionally organized, said Frankholz.

He added that TÜV Rheinland also sees the CIIE as an important platform for finding potential customers and learning about their needs, as well as a way to communicate with authorities, the government, and related parties.

The CIIE is a sea of opportunities, full of hope and vigor, said Frankholz during the third edition of the expo in 2020. He added that the event serves as a bridge connecting China's market with foreign companies and facilitates exchange between multiple parties.

The expo demonstrates China's resolve to further open up to the outside world, and this partly explains why Shanghai has the potential to become an international metropolis, said Frankholz.
