Nikon, a Japanese multinational optics and imaging giant, confirmed its participation in the fourth edition of the China International Import Expo for the first time at a signing ceremony held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on May 20.

Founded over a century ago, Nikon is a world leading company for cameras, optics, and equipment used for manufacturing semiconductors and FPD. At the 4th CIIE, the company will showcase its products at the integrated circuit subsection of the Intelligent Industry & Information Technology exhibition area.

Nikon has played a significant role in promoting the development of the global semiconductor industry with its cameras and mask aligners known worldwide, said Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau while extending his welcome to the company.

Masato Hamatani, senior vice-president at Nikon Corp who attended the ceremony via video link, said Nikon will ramp up efforts to explore China's fast-growing market. He added that the CIIE demonstrates China's commitment to cooperation with overseas enterprises.

The fourth CIIE is scheduled to take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
