China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) will hold an investment promotion event in Northeast China's Jilin province from March 22 to 24 to facilitate communication and cooperation between exhibitors of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and local government departments and enterprises, said Shu Jueting, an MOFCOM spokeswoman, at a press conference on March 16. 

Focusing on Jilin's leading industries such as automobile, food, equipment manufacturing, and healthcare, the event organizers will design a series of activities, including trade and economic cooperation conferences, matchmaking meetings, field visits and seminars, to help CIIE exhibitors learn more about the province and seek business opportunities there. 

The ministry has been holding such events, which help connect CIIE exhibitors with governments and companies in China, since 2021, Shu said. She added that the event in Jilin will mark the beginning of this year’s investment promotion events across the country.
