The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia has been putting together delegations of companies to attend the annual China International Import Expo for five consecutive years.
The ACCCIM has booked 556 square meters of space at the food and agricultural products exhibition area at the fifth CIIE, which will take place in Shanghai this November. The chamber also worked with the CIIE Bureau and the Malaysian branch of the Bank of China to hold an online promotional event for the fifth expo on March 22.
Through their participation in the trade fair, Malaysian companies have gained more knowledge about the demands in the Chinese market and strengthened their resolve to further tap the opportunities in China, said Low Kian Chuan, president of the ACCCIM.
He also expressed confidence that the CIIE would help Malaysian enterprises enhance their presence in global markets and bolster the Southeast Asian country's economic recovery in the post-pandemic era.
During the fourth CIIE last year, the ACCCIM gathered a group of companies which occupied a combined 607 square meters of exhibition space and displayed traditional foods, rubber products and other goods at the food and agricultural products, medical equipment and healthcare products as well as the consumer goods exhibition areas.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement entered into force for Malaysia on March 18 and provides Malaysian products with easier access to the Chinese market. The agreement is expected to further enhance economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia, according to the ACCCIM.
