An online promotional event for the fashion and jewelry section in the consumer goods exhibition area of the fifth China International Import Expo was held on April 28.
The section, which is expected to occupy 30,000 square meters, will feature middle and high-end consumer goods such as clothing, footwear, bags, jewelry and artworks. Companies that have confirmed their participation in the section include Richemont, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Tapestry, Swarovski, Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), and Fast Retailing.
During the event, Yann Bozec, president of Tapestry Asia-Pacific, said that the CIIE is an effective and practical bridge connecting Chinese and global markets. He also called on businesses in the fashion industry to take part in the CIIE and talked about a sustainable project that Tapestry is working on.
Senior executives at Dolce & Gabbana and APP also echoed that the CIIE has facilitated their introduction of new products to China and helped them find new partners and roll out promotional programs.
Wallace Chan, a Hong Kong-based jewelry artist and sculptor, said the expo enhances cultural exchanges between China and other countries, and that he will showcase his works at the fifth CIIE this November in Shanghai.
The Chinese market is huge in size and growth potential, and will create enormous opportunities for the fashion, jewelry and artwork industries, said Song Shangzhe, assistant president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the venue for the CIIE.
Organizers of the business exhibition of the CIIE will make continued efforts, such as setting up sections, holding various activities and attracting purchasers, to build an ideal platform for exhibitors to promote brands and clinch deals, added Song.
