The 10,000-square-meter sporting goods and events subsection in the consumer goods exhibition area of the fifth China International Import Expo, which will take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, will focus on high-tech products that can help people lead a healthy life, an official said at an online promotional event on May 17.

The subsection will feature a range of sporting goods and products related to sporting events and e-sports. It will also have an innovation incubation zone for overseas high-tech startups for the first time.

China has a large group of sports consumers and a huge sports market. Foreign companies are welcome to seize the development opportunities in the country, said Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, at the promotional event.

Sporting goods manufacturers Nike, Skechers and Decathlon said they will enhance exchange and cooperation with business partners, help innovative sports technology programs get started in China, and create more momentum for the growth of China's sports industry.
