The China International Import Expo Bureau and China Trade Center (Brazil) recently held an online promotional event to attract Brazilian companies involved in trade in services to participate in the fifth CIIE in November in Shanghai.
During the event, about 50 representatives from Brazilian companies learned about the trade in services exhibition area of the fifth CIIE.
Economic and trade relations between China and Brazil have deepened over the past two decades and China has been Brazil's largest trading partner for years, said Marco Polo Moreira Leite, president of the Superior Council of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro. He added that the association will invite Brazilian companies to attend the major international trade fair.
Rio de Janeiro is a cosmopolitan city and home to many big companies such as Petrobras, a state-owned corporation in the oil and gas industry, and Vale, a global mining company, said Xu Yuansheng, commercial counselor at the Consulate General of China in Rio de Janeiro.
Xu said he hopes Brazilian companies can make the most out of the CIIE and enhance cooperation with Chinese partners in trade in services-related sectors such as technology trade, smart city, intelligent healthcare, and business services.
Henrique Reis, international relations manager at the China Trade Center (Brazil), an important partner of the CIIE, said the center will set up a booth featuring a group of Brazilian companies from the finance, logistics, education, culture and tourism industries at the trade in services exhibition area this year. The center will also seek to provide better services to help companies achieve excellent results at the expo.
