Fifth CIIE holds online roadshow to attract European exhibitors Release date: 2022-06-28    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

An online promotional event to attract European exhibitors to the fifth China International Import Expo was held on June 23.

Representatives from more than 160 European companies attended the event and watched presentations about the expo's consumer goods, intelligent industry and information technology, medical equipment and healthcare products, as well as trade in services exhibition areas.

Expo staff and customs officers also briefed the representatives on the favorable policies introduced by the CIIE Bureau and procedures related to exhibit sales during the meeting.

Europe has always been an important participant in the CIIE, said Ma Fengmin, financial director of the CIIE Bureau. The region is home to a host of high-tech companies and boasts many brands that have been well-received by Chinese consumers, he added. The financial director also expects more European companies, small and medium-sized ones in particular, to participate in the CIIE and enter the Chinese market.

According to Ma, almost 1,000 companies from nearly 40 European countries occupied over 135,000 square meters of exhibition space in the fourth CIIE in 2021.

Li Xiaowei, deputy general manager of transaction banking at the Bank of China, said the bank, which is a strategic partner of the CIIE and has been providing support in attracting exhibitors and purchasers, will offer bespoke and efficient financial services to European exhibitors during the fifth CIIE.
