Since the first edition in 2018, the China International Import Expo has been a key platform to promote further opening-up of the Chinese market and globalization. It unlocks huge potential in China for global investors and brings in quality products and services from around the globe to China. The country exhibition attracted more than 120 countries and international organizations to participate in the first four editions and injects more vitality to global economy. High-end dialogues held during the previous four sessions of Hongqiao International Economic Forum contributed "Hongqiao wisdom" to the construction of the dual-circulation development pattern and an open world economy.

The organizers of the China International Import Expo invited Li Min from China Daily, the designer of the snowflake torch platform used at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, to create eight exquisite illustrations focused on the themes "international procurement", "investment promotion", "people-to-people exchanges", "open cooperation", "connecting China's market with the world", "integrated international industrial development", "innovation promotion", and "aligning economic and trade regulations" to mark the fifth anniversary of the CIIE. Starting from the 100-day countdown to the 2022 edition, an illustration and report will be launched every 10 days for readers.
