The China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) held a special meeting on Feb 3 to deliver New Year greetings to CIIE participants and inform them about the preparations for the sixth CIIE, which will be held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai this year.

Participants at the meeting included representatives of exhibitors, purchasers, trade missions, exhibitor organizers, partners, and members of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said during the meeting that more than 500 enterprises have already booked over 200,000 square meters of exhibition space at this year’s expo.

The sixth CIIE will again serve as a platform for exhibitors and purchasers to deepen cooperation, Sun added.

Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, then spoke about the highlights and innovative measures of the preparatory work for the expo.

According to Liu, this year’s expo will feature abundant roadshows and activities to increase face-to-face contact between exhibitors and purchasers. In addition, improvements will be made to the subsections of low-carbon energy and environmental protection technology, artificial intelligence, and crop seed industry. The bureau is also preparing to set up a new subsection for optical printing.

During the meeting, representatives shared their experiences of participating in previous expos and expressed their expectations for this year’s event.

The meeting also saw the release of the list of the first batch of exhibitors for the sixth CIIE.
