Kiwi enterprises expressed their desire to participate in the sixth China International Import Expo at a promotional event held in Auckland, New Zealand, on local time May 26.

The event was attended by more than 150 representatives from over 70 Kiwi enterprises.

Chen Zhiyang, minister counselor of the Chinese embassy in New Zealand, said at the conference that more Kiwi enterprises have found business opportunities in the Chinese market through the CIIE.

He hopes that governments at all levels as well as enterprises in New Zealand will actively participate in the expo to reap the benefits of China’s reform and opening-up and economic development.

Over the past five years, the CIIE has gained even broader international influence and become an international public good, said Ning Feng, president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the venue for the CIIE.

He expressed hope that local organizations in New Zealand will continue to gather more high-quality exhibitors to participate in the expo.

Qi Jun, chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand (CCCNZ), said that the CIIE serves as an important platform for Kiwi exporters to showcase their products, share experiences and build relationships.

He noted that the sixth CIIE will again feature the innovation incubation subsection that will help Kiwi startups enter the Chinese market.

During the event, CCCNZ signed up for this year’s expo, which will be held in Shanghai this November.
