Eight Romanian organizations and enterprises signed memorandums of cooperation with the China International Import Expo Bureau during a promotional event for the sixth CIIE in Bucharest, Romania, on May 29, local time.

The event, aimed at drawing Romanian enterprises and organizations to take part in the CIIE, was attended by over 120 representatives from Romanian business associations, enterprises, and media outlets.

Chinese Ambassador to Romania Han Chunlin said at the event that the CIIE has expanded opening-up channels and provided tangible benefits to countries around the world by sharing opportunities in the Chinese market.

Romania has actively participated in the past five editions of the expo and its high-quality products, such as wine, cosmetics, and chocolate, have been well-received by Chinese consumers, said Shi Huangjun from the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), which is the venue for the annual expo.

Iuliu Stocklosa, president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that Romanian enterprises should make use of the CIIE to actively promote their brands and products to help boost economic and trade cooperation between China and Romania.

Mihai Andritoiu, president of the China Romania Association for the Promotion of International Trade and Economy, which intends to become an official exhibitor mobilizer of the CIIE in Romania, gave a brief introduction to the attending Romanian companies and explained the registration procedures.

Besides the promotional conference, the CIIE work group also visited Timisoara, a city in western Romania, and attended a conference organized by the Timisoara Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

According to the chamber, local businesses have a strong interest in expanding into the Chinese market and hope to introduce their unique local products to Chinese consumers through the CIIE.
