The sixth China International Import Expo held its first pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking session for the consumer goods and trade in services exhibition areas in Shanghai on July 6.
The event was aimed at providing a platform for exhibitors and buyers to find more trade and cooperation opportunities. It also served as a roadshow to attract buyers in Shanghai for the CIIE.
Exhibitors such as BSH, Zara, Standard Chartered, and DHL Express, as well as nearly 100 buyers, including China National Petroleum Corporation, China Eastern Airlines, and China Resources, attended the event. Some of the exhibitors showcased their products and services at the event.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that the focus of preparations for this year’s expo has shifted from recruiting exhibitors to attracting buyers and exhibition organization.
The CIIE organizers will continue to invite more professional buyers to participate in the promotional roadshows, pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking meetings, and other activities to facilitate cooperation between exhibitors and buyers, Sun added.
He hopes that the Shanghai trade mission will further expand procurement transactions and organize supporting activities to promote the improvement of the CIIE.
During the event, Shanghai M&G Stationery Inc, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co Ltd, and Shanghai Dongchang Enterprise Group Co Ltd signed memorandums of cooperation as important purchasers for the CIIE.
