A pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking meeting for the food and agricultural products, medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition areas of the 7th China International Import Expo commenced at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the CIIE venue, on July 24.

The meeting, aimed at providing a platform for both CIIE exhibitors and buyers to connect and explore business opportunities, attracted more than 50 enterprises from the food and agricultural products exhibition area and over 30 firms from the medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area.

On the buyer side, over 200 local enterprises from Shanghai also attended the event.

Wu Zhengping, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that over 360,000 square meters of exhibition space have been booked at this year's expo.

Additionally, nine roadshows and supply-demand matchmaking meetings for the 7th CIIE were conducted nationwide, leading to the signing of memorandums of cooperation with nearly 20 buyers, according to Wu.

During the meeting, online grocery platform Dingdong Maicai and Shanghai-based retailer HotMaxx signed memorandums of cooperation with the CIIE Bureau to become key buyers.

Several exhibitors from the food and agricultural products exhibition area showcased their products that are set to make their global debut at this year's expo, including packaged coconut products from Dole and organic bananas from Goodfarmer Foods. Additionally, products featuring advanced medical and healthcare technologies were also showcased at the event by exhibitors from the medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area.
