Dialogue with purchasers | Alibaba brings more overseas products to Chinese consumers via CIIE Release date: 2022-01-28    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

Editor's Note: The fourth China International Import Expo in November 2021 saw purchasers play a significant part in the expo's success by clinching a large number of deals with exhibitors. Many purchasers have since shared their views about their gains and expressed confidence in the annual event.

Alibaba Group was founded in 1999, and its main import businesses consist of Tmall Global, Kaola, and Tmall Supermarket. Alibaba has remained dedicated to developing its infrastructure in recent years, and in doing so, the company has introduced multiple overseas brands to Chinese market.

Q: What did you gain from participating in the fourth CIIE?

A: We hope that Alibaba Group will cooperate with more new overseas brands and help them expand the Chinese market through the CIIE.

Q: What impressed you most during the fourth CIIE?

A: As the COVID-19 pandemic still plagues the world, China stays committed to the multilateralism and has opened wider to the outside world.

During the inaugural CIIE, multiple enterprises from the Tmall Global platform participated in the event. At the second CIIE, we introduced multiple overseas brands. The effect brought about by the fourth CIIE is more obvious on the e-commerce platform, and it pushes us to cooperate with more companies.

Q: Why have you attended the expo multiple times?

A: The CIIE brings together high-quality goods from all over the world. The Chinese market has become an important engine for overseas businesses to resume work and production in the era of the pandemic, and multiple overseas brands that participated in the fourth CIIE seek more opportunities with Chinese enterprises.

Tmall Global has participated in the CIIE for four years with hopes of cooperating with overseas exhibitors as well as meeting the growing shopping needs of domestic consumers by introducing more overseas products.
