HQF Warming-Up丨Sustainable Agriculture in the Global South Release date: 2025-11-03 Source:China International Import Expo Bureau
The Parallel Session on "Exchange and Dialogue on Sustainable Agricultural Development in the Global South" under the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF) will be held on the afternoon of November 6, 2025, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The Parallel session is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, organized by the CMG Agriculture and Rural Affairs Programming Center, and School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences of Peking University, with support from CCTV-17 Rural Revitalization Think Tank.
Focusing on the core theme of "China actively fulfills its international obligations, contributing Chinese wisdom, solutions, and strength to addressing issues such as poverty reduction, agricultural development, and food shortages in Global South countries, and jointly forges a future of shared prosperity", the session will facilitate in-depth cross-border dialogue and exchange as well as media initiative among heads of international organizations, renowned domestic and international experts and scholars, media representatives, and business elites. The objective is to build consensus and pool strength for promoting sustainable agricultural development in the Global South.
The session includes five key segments: Opening Addresses, Keynote Speeches, Practical Exploration, Roundtable Dialogue, and Special Media Moment.
