B&D Life Health, a South Korean firm which makes detergents and other cleaning products, will be on the lookout for Chinese partners at the first ever China International Import Expo as it looks to resolve issues with its supply chain.

The Incheon-based company is not particularly large, and is one of only a handful of small- to medium-sized enterprises to have a hot product at the forefront of South Korea’s day-to-day chemicals market.

“The CIIE will provide a very good platform,” said Kwang-Woon Chun, chief financial officer, adding that it has brought together the best Chinese merchants and greatest products from around the world, attracting wide attention from the Chinese people. This is important for Korean companies, and other foreign companies in China, he said, adding that it is a great time to establish mutual trust with partners in the country.

B&D has prepared a special produce brochure in Chinese to demonstrate its products to the buyers and consumers, he added. It has a range of natural products with global environmental certifications, and aside from its already renowned cleaner Detergent Revolution, it sells Shoomon, a special cleaning product for young children. The firm also operates as an original equipment manufacturer for companies from China and other countries using its technical knowledge and research and development in environmental protection, Chun said.

Warehousing and the cross-border supply chain are the most complicated issues for many daily chemicals maker, as the products are heavy and large in quantity, he added. Many of B&D’s best sellers are mostly bought and sold in small scale through traders in various countries and it could use a Chinese partner to help resolve these issues, Chun said.
