The first China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai this November. As a well-known British automobile manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover will highlight its first pure electric coupe SUV at the expo and demonstrate the company’s efforts in the reform of “Four Modernizations” in the automotive industry.
Pan Qing, director of Jaguar Land Rover Global and president of Jaguar Land Rover China, said at the matchmaking meeting for exhibitors & buyers of the Automobile exhibition area, “Jaguar Land Rover’s key technology to be exhibited conforms to the changes of the current ‘Four Modernizations’ in the automotive industry. We are committed to becoming a technology company, striving to achieve changes from internal combustion engines to electrification, interconnection, intelligence, and sharing (ICE to ACES), creating a cleaner, safer and more high-tech future for global consumers.”
I-PACE is a key showcase of Jaguar Land Rover at the CIIE. As the first luxury pure-electric coupe SUV launched by Jaguar, I-PACE is not only a pioneer of Jaguar Land Rover in the field of electrification, but also remarkable in the field of intelligence.
In terms of performance, I-PACE has a 4.8-second 100-kilometer acceleration time and a drag coefficient of only 0.29, while its “Smart Settings”, which use artificial intelligence algorithms, can provide a unique driving experience according to the driving habits of each owner.
Jaguar Land Rover is also actively transforming as the trend of electrification, intelligence and car sharing has pushed for reform of the entire industry. Under this brand-new strategy, electrification and intelligence have become important engines for future development.
In terms of electrification, starting from 2020, all new Jaguar Land Rover models will have options for electric vehicles, including pure electric, plug-in hybrid and light hybrid models. Intelligence is also an area where Jaguar Land Rover will continue to achieve breakthroughs. All Jaguar and Land Rover models are equipped with the industry-leading InControl smart touch-control system.
Its participation in the import expo also demonstrates Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to deepening the Chinese market and promoting the process of localization in a comprehensive way. “Every year Jaguar Land Rover spends 15% of its annual revenue on expanding product research and development, technology updates and production deployment, mainly for new product R&D and infrastructure construction; and China will be our top priority in investment,” Pan Qing said.
