Takashimaya to showcase traditional Japanese crafts at import expo Release date:2018-10-26
Takashimaya, a well-known Japanese retail company, will participate in the first China International Import Expo. Takashimaya will introduce its Sanyo wind coat and Yamaki shirt, among other clothing brands at the expo. It will also exhibit Nishikawa bedding and Tatsumura formal attire, which involve traditional Japanese crafts. Their exhibits will follow modern trends and at the same time encompass the characteristics of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
The products of Sanyo Shokai are becoming increasingly sophisticated. As more and more consumers prefer good quality products that last, Sanyo Shokai designs and manufactures exquisite, stylish and unique wind coats for consumers through continuous innovation and research. At the same time, the company hopes its meticulous processing of each and every detail will contribute to a wind coat that is one of a kind. Through long-term cooperation with well-known brands, Sanyo has produced its “Century-Old Wind Coat”, which is a well-designed Japanese product that highlights the wearer’s experience.

What is also worth mentioning is the traditional Kyoto dresses which involve traditional weaving and dyeing crafts, which are made by Tatsumura Textile — a very famous company in Japan whose dresses are in long-term art exhibits in Kyoto. They are renowned for their artistic quality and for their extensive use in the research and restoration of ancient textiles. This technology was applied to the restoration of the artistic fabrics at the famous Horiuji Monastery and at Shosoin. The exhibits will show modern formal attire for young people that encompass the characteristics of Japanese kimonos and traditional craftsmanship.

Takashimaya notes that it will also introduce health and beauty products that Chinese consumers like, in addition to clothing and food, as well as products for an aging society, which include goods produced by itself and those produced in cooperation with suppliers. A procurement department for the Chinese market has been set up at the Takashimaya headquarters in Japan to introduce popular goods, clothing and food that are well-received in China.
