It features a cute giant panda wearing a blue-yellow scarf embroidered with the logo of the CIIE and has the name “Jinbao,” which sounds similar to “Jinbo,” the abbreviation of the CIIE in Chinese.

“Jinbao” also means “treasure of the CIIE” and “bringing in wealth."

The panda is jumping with a four-leaf clover in its left hand, which is believed to bring luck. Its right hand is waving to welcome guests from all over the world.

The clover represents the National Exhibition and Convention Center, where the expo will be held, because of its design which looks like a clover.

In terms of the color of the scarf, yellow stands for the Silk Road Economic Belt, while blue stands for the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century.

Panda is China’s national treasure and its “name card.” Adored by all for its chubby and cute image, it has become China’s emissary for friendship, contributing to the country's friendly ties with other nations.

The logo of the CIIE is comprised of the earth in the middle, a light-blue ring surrounding it, the name in Chinese and in English, and the abbreviation CIIE.

The green China on the earth embodies the idea that “clear water and green mountains are mountains of gold and silver," meaning that the CIIE will focus on the principles of innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development.

The slogan of the CIIE is “New Era, Shared Future.”
