My name is Celina Chew. I’m the president of Bayer Greater China. Great pleasure for me to be here today, so hello everyone.

We are a leading health care and life science company. So we feel that we can really contribute to the development of the Chinese health industry.

We bring our innovative products to China. And we always look to see how we meet the unmet-needs of Chinese patients and Chinese society.

Actually, Bayer has been trading with China since 1882, more than 130 years ago. Our first company in China was established in 1913 in Shanghai. So we have a very long history with China.

And more recently, we really feel that we are part of the landscape, part of the community in China.

I think CIIE is a very good idea. It’s a very good platform in which foreign companies can also demonstrate what products are being brought into China, to serve the Chinese market.

In the CIIE, we’ll be showcasing a range of our products and our solutions. And it’s not only in health care, but also in crop science. So for us, we have an end-to-end offering in terms of delivering a better life for Chinese people.

We start with radiology, which is one of our businesses, where we are able to help people identify and diagnose diseases. And you’ll see that in our booth at CIIE.

Then we look at our pharmaceuticals business. And we’ll showcase some products that we are bringing to the Chinese market in the areas like in cardiovascular treatment, in oncology, in ophthalmology and eye care. So I think you’ll find some interesting and cutting edge products there.

And then we also have our crop science products. How we help farmers, really make sure that they can grow healthy and nutritious and adequate food for Chinese people.

And we also have animal health business, showcasing the super products in the area of agriculture, shrimp farming, and also in other animal health area of business.

So I think if you come to our booth in CIIE, you will be really excited to see the whole range of what Bayer can offer for Chinese people.

When I first came to China in 1993, Shanghai was a very different place. I think the telephone was very different from today. But if you fast forward now, thirty years later, Shanghai is a glittering city, full of promise, full of development and innovation.

Most of all, the people of China, are great treasure. Because for us, China not only is a great market for our products in nutrition and health care, but also a great source of talent and innovation for Bayer.

Our mission is ‘Science for better life’. We use scientific discoveries to find solutions that bring the life to people everywhere. And this CIIE will help to showcase that.
