Hi, everyone, I am Steven Du, I am the managing director of SGS in China. I have been working for SRS for 19 years. And in Shanghai, it’s close to 10 years.

SGS, we are third-party inspection, testing company. Our business is always to support and facilitate the trade, and provide technical solutions and services.

I wish the CIIE will be a very big success. Our business can only grow when the trading is growing.

SGS’s headquarter is in Switzerland. We are world’s leading testing, inspection, certification and verification companies.

Actually, we have been in China for 27 years, have over 150 laboratories, covering more than 60 cities in China.

We are serving a lot of industries from oil & gas to industrial to mineral, agriculture, food and consumer goods. So no matter which industry we are serving, we are offering them testing, inspection, certification and verification.

You know that in past 40 years when China is opening up its market, a lot of local manufacturers exporting their products to overseas, and all these exporters need technical support or testing service, that is the reason why SRS is developing so fast.

While nowadays, more and more overseas companies, when they wish to sell their products in China market, they need the technical services, for example, they need to test as per the local standard.

And consumers are paying more and more attention on food safety. Particularly in the lab, we do a lot of food testing, safety testing, nutrition testing for the food industry.

When we are talking about Belt and Road Initiative, the country has changed exporting nature. In the past, we do a lot of exportation on the consumer goods, while nowadays there are more and more infrastructures, for example, the highway, the railway and power plants, will have these overseas projects in other countries and that also provides great opportunities for SGS to do projects supervision, non-destructive testing and these will provide us lots of growth opportunities.

CIIE is the first time we have this kind of exhibition at this size in Shanghai. The whole SGS Group pays a lot of attention to this event. During the fair, we are going to launch a new service called the Independent Check Mark (ICM), that is the first type of this kind.

We are verifying the product, demonstrate SGS mark on the products, so consumers can make their buying decision easily by relying on test and verification result of SGS.

CIIE will also demonstrate the commitment of the Chinese Government to have more imports. Given the chance that there are a lot of overseas exporters, they will be available in China, it is a great opportunity for us to meet with those international exporters, and we can help them to facilitate their export to Chinese market, because we have over 15,000 employees in China, we are familiar with the local standards, we know the difference between the Chinese standards and international standards, we can help them to solve these technical barriers and facilitate their exportation.
