大家好，我是迈克尔·莱维特。非常高兴能够参加第七届虹桥国际经济论坛“全球药品安全治理和中国药品监管创新”议题的讨论。

新冠疫情席卷全球后，各方纷纷加大药品研发力度。新的形势加速了医药产业各方面革新的步伐。随着基础科学的发展和人工智能为药品研发注入新的动力，药品生产速度更快，效率更高。相应地，许多公司正在调整药品、化妆品等管理框架。监管部门和厂商正在全球范围内重塑药品的生产和合作模式。中国是药品研发和生产大国，建设更加健康的药品市场，推动更为高效的治理体系，对中国和国际药品消费者都具有重大意义。作为该领域的科学家，我想分享我对医药行业发展的观察，希望能更好地帮助政府和市场打造更加高效运作的药品生产体系。

Hello. I’m Michael Levitt. I’m very happy to attend the session on Drug Safety Governance and Chinese Drug Regulation Innovation of the 7th Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

After the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe, there has been increased attention on research & development of pharmaceuticals. The new situation has accelerated the pace of reform and innovation in all aspects of the pharmaceutical industry. Meanwhile, as basic science evolves and Artificial Intelligence injects new impetus into the drugs’ development, we are producing pharmaceuticals more quickly and more efficiently than ever before. Accordingly, many companies are updating their management frameworks for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and so on. Policymakers and practitioners in global drug production are experiencing adjustments and readjustments in production and cooperation modes. China is a strong nation in pharmaceutical research and production. Building a healthier pharmaceutical market and promoting a more efficient governance system in China is of great significance to both Chinese and global drug consumers. As a scientist in the field, I want to share my observations on the development in the drug industry and I hope my sharing will better inform policymakers and producers on their efforts to construct a more efficiently operating drug production system.
