大家好，我是皮萨里德斯。非常高兴再次受邀参加虹桥国际经济论坛。我是虹桥论坛的老朋友了，每次参与都有非常好的体验。通过举办虹桥论坛和进博会，中国正在努力践行对外开放的承诺。《世界开放报告》是虹桥论坛的旗舰出版物，也是传递开放信息、促进国家间合作的有力工具。《世界开放报告》彰显了开放在经济和社会合作中的作用，虽然我们近来在推动开放方面取得了很大进步，但仍有进一步提高的空间，大家可以在报告中找到途径。《世界开放报告》已经有了较大知名度，但我希望它受到更多关注，加速推动经济开放。

我还将参与第七届虹桥论坛关于老龄化和银发经济的讨论。据我所知，老龄化是中国当前热议的话题之一，与中国的社会转型密切相关。我所在的欧洲大陆也面临同样的问题。我希望通过这个主题的讨论，决策者和市场能够更好地把握老龄化的影响，理清应对思路，从而造福社会。

最后，我要感谢虹桥论坛秘书处的邀请，期待在上海与大家相见。

Hello. I’m Christopher Pissarides. I’m very glad to be invited to attend the Hongqiao International Economic Forum again. I’m no stranger to the Hongqiao Forum. It is always a great experience to visit it. Through the Hongqiao Forum and the China International Import Expo, China is trying to put into practice its commitment to openness to the outside world. The World Openness Report is the flagship publication of the Hongqiao Forum and a powerful tool to convey the message of openness and promote cooperation between nations. The report serves to highlight the role of openness in both economic and social cooperation. Although we have made a lot of progress recently, there is room for further improvement, and you will find ways of achieving it in the report. Although the report is well-known by now, I would like to see more attention paid to it and move further ahead faster in opening up our economies.

Regarding the 7th Hongqiao Forum, I will also join the discussion on the theme of population aging and the silver economy. I know that population aging is one of the most heated topics of debate in China today, which is closely related to the nation’s social transformation. My own continent, Europe, is also facing the same problem. I hope that the discussion on this topic will lead to clearer understandings and better inform both policy makers and market players about the implications of ageing, and how to deal with it for the benefit of society.

Finally, I would like to thank the Secretariat of the forum for the invitation. I look forward to meeting you all in Shanghai.
