More than 1,000 enterprises, including nearly 260 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders, have signed up for the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the CIIE Bureau said on Friday.

An exhibition area of 325,000 square meters has been booked for the expo, according to the bureau. The exhibition spaces reserved for the food and agricultural products, consumer goods, and medical equipment and healthcare products have exceeded 90 percent of the planned area, while bookings for all other exhibition areas have also surpassed 80 percent of the designated area.

The seventh CIIE will continue to feature the six exhibition areas of food and agricultural products, automobile, intelligent and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, trade in services and several special sections.

This year, the expo's technology and equipmentintelligent industry and information technology exhibition area will, for the first time, feature a new materials sectorspecial section, creating an international platform for sharing innovative resources in the new materials industry.
