The Hongqiao International Economic Forum, an important part of the annual China International Import Expo, held a lecture at Sinar Mas Plaza, Shanghai on Aug 30.

Yu Hongyuan, head of the Institute for Comparative Politics and Public Policy of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, was invited to give a speech on green supply chains amid climate change and geographical competition.

Yu cited a number of cases to showcase the current development of green supply chains in the United States and Europe. He also spoke to participants about China's practices in energy supply and low-carbon transition.

Representatives of the Hongqiao forum's member companies, including Pernod Ricard, Bank of China, 3M, Dell, Michelin, and Louis Dreyfus Company, then further discussed about green development. Executives from APP China, Amorepacific and L'Oreal also shared their experiences in promoting sustainable growth and consumption.

Ma Fengmin, deputy secretary general of the Hongqiao forum and finance director of the CIIE Bureau, said more activities will be held to address member companies' concerns and offer them opportunities to interact and cooperate.
