A promotional conference for the sixth China International Import Expo was held in Copenhagen, Denmark on June 14, local time, and attracted the participation of Danish government officials, industry experts, and company representatives.

Three organizations – The Confederation of Danish Industry, Venture Cup Denmark, and the Danish-Chinese Business Forum – signed cooperation agreements with the CIIE Bureau for the sixth expo during the conference.

Gao Xingle, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese embassy in Denmark, said at the conference that the CIIE will help further deepen economic and trade cooperation between China and Denmark.

Denmark is an old friend of the CIIE, Zhang Weimin, assistant president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), which is the venue for the expo, highlighted at the conference.

According to Zhang, the past five editions of the CIIE attracted nearly 200 Danish enterprises, occupying an exhibition area of over 24,000 square meters. He welcomed Danish companies involved in sectors like food, equipment, and healthcare to leverage the expo to bring their premium products, technologies, and services to China.

Jens Holst-Nielsen, director of the International Trade and Market Development in the Confederation of Danish Industry, said that the CIIE is an important platform for Danish enterprises to introduce their products to the Chinese market. The expo plays a significant role in promoting Danish exports to China, he said.

He added that he is looking forward to this year’s expo in November and will actively mobilize the association's member enterprises to participate in the expo.

Morten Ugelvig Andersen, chief executive officer of the Venture Cup Denmark, the organizer of University Startup World Cup (USWC), said that an increasing number of countries and enterprises are participating in the USWC through the CIIE.

Andersen said the association will further strengthen its collaboration with the CIIE and leverage the innovation incubation subsection of the expo to facilitate exchanges between more startup projects and Chinese and global markets.

During the conference, the association held an opening ceremony for the USWC 2023 and announced its plan to hold the global final during the sixth CIIE.
