African countries and enterprises were invited to the sixth China International Import Expo at a promotional seminar held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on local time May 11.

Lin Zhiyong, minister counsellor of the Chinese Mission to the African Union, said at the seminar that the CIIE reflects China's desire to share its large market with African countries. 

Over the past five years, the CIIE has gathered high-quality African products and supported African enterprises in exploring the Chinese market, thus making positive contributions to China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, Lin added.

Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau said at the seminar that the CIIE is aimed at expanding opening-up and presenting opportunities to the world.

Song added that the CIIE is willing to help more African enterprises and high-quality products enter the Chinese market.

During the seminar, staff members of the CIIE Bureau spoke about the preparations for this year's expo and the measures used to support the participation of African countries in the expo. 

The seminar was covered by local media such as The Ethiopian Herald, as well as Chinese media outlets like Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, and Guangming Daily.
