More Ethiopian enterprises and high-quality goods are welcome to join the upcoming sixth China International Import Expo, according to a promotional conference held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on local time May 12. 

Zhao Zhiyuan, Chinese ambassador to Ethiopia, expressed hope at the conference that China and Ethiopia would make full use of the CIIE to deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation. 

According to Zhao, China has been Ethiopia's largest trading partner for many years and their bilateral trade has maintained a good development momentum. The economic and trade cooperation between the two countries still has huge potential.

Dagnachew Atinkut, the advisor to Ethiopia's Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, also said at the conference that the CIIE is a world-class expo that has provided new channels for the two countries to strengthen their trade cooperation.

He added that the ministry would continue to participate in the CIIE and support related organizations to get involved in the expo. 

Over the past five years, the CIIE has gathered high-quality products from Ethiopia and supported Ethiopian businesses with expanding into the Chinese market, said Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau. 

He said that expo is willing to provide support and assistance for more Ethiopian enterprises and high-quality products to enter the Chinese market.

During the conference, the CIIE Bureau signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations.
